Allison’s journey with horses began with the adoption of a Thoroughbred named Mario—a decision that would change her life forever. What started as a single act of love soon revealed the heartbreaking realities of the horse world, from the plight of “unrideable” horses to the horrors of the auction and slaughter pipeline.

A lifelong animal lover and big-picture dreamer, Allison co-founded Red Feather Equine Sanctuary with her husband, Josh, in 2020. What began as a small farm on the outskirts of Winston-Salem has grown into a nationally recognized sanctuary and advocacy organization, now home to more than forty equines.

Allison is deeply hands-on in every aspect of Red Feather’s work—from training foals and tending to senior horses, to developing humane education programs and lobbying for systemic change. Though Mario passed away in 2024, his spirit lives on in every rescue and every act of kindness at the sanctuary.

Guided by his memory, Allison’s vision is simple but bold: to create a future where every horse is valued, protected, and given the second chance they deserve.
