Sanctuary Residents

Red Feather offers permanent sanctuary to horses, including seniors of advanced age, those with significant physical or emotional trauma, and mother & baby pairs, among other risk factors which may make them vulnerable to neglect or abuse.  The sanctuary model allows us to provide permanence, routine and therapeutic hands-on care for animals who need more than what traditional adoptive rescue programs can offer.  We are home to more than thirty sanctuaried equines, which includes many seniors who are between 25 to 35 years old!
